As an iconic gateway for staff and visitors to the MCAS Miramar Base, the new headquarters for the Human Resources Service Center creates an innovative professional office image that looks to the future while remaining true to the contextual roots of the existing base architecture.  The project is a harmonious blend of durable integrally-colored split-face and precision masonry and large expanses of glass creating generous opportunities for natural light and views.  Aluminum brise soliels temper harsh solar exposures while standing seam metal roofs conduct rainwater to a green roof reducing storm water runoff and decreasing heat island effect.
